The small Jeep Compass crossover and the mid-size Grand Cherokee both showcase the results of numerous improvements. These popular models offer all of the functionality that you want from your next SUV, along with their own spin on the Jeep brand's modern body language. With exciting differences between these models, however, a closer look is necessary before making your next crossover SUV selection.

Performance

The 2026 Jeep Compass is available with a new 2.0-liter turbo, four-cylinder engine. This model is paired with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, generating 200 horsepower.

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, on the other hand, features a revised 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This system features an eight-speed automatic transmission and produces 324 horsepower. It's capable of towing up to 6,200 pounds. The 3.6-liter V6, 293-horsepower engine and the 375-horsepower plug-in hybrid engine, which were offered in 2025, continue to be available as well.

Appearance

The Compass has a sleek profile while retaining the brand's squared-off front and fenders. The sides are flawlessly smooth except for a crease running along the upper door panels. Dark molding flows from bumper to bumper. The rectangular grille features a row of columns and extends outward to connect with the sharp LED headlights.

The Grand Cherokee is a larger model with a taller profile. The squared-off fenders show off a pinstripe accent that runs across the lower door panels. The grille is comparable to the Compass's grille. The headlights are larger and rectangular, styled with both upper and lower LED ribbons.

Features

With the Compass's affordability and features, this model offers true value. Some of the available features are premium leather upholstery, heated front seats, a 10.3-inch digital instrument panel, driver's memory settings, a hands-free liftgate, highway driving assistance, automated parking assistance, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charging pad, remote engine start, adaptive cruise control, and more.

The Grand Cherokee offers many of these features, as well as wood trim, heated seats in both rows, a McIntosh sound system, a surround-view camera, automated parking assistance, a four-zone automatic climate control system, and other premium features.
