The rugged, brilliantly designed Recon joins the Jeep lineup in 2026. This is only Jeep's second EV, offering a balance of the Wrangler's off-road performance and the Wagoneer S's roominess and features. As a new model, the 2026 Recon warrants a closer look before making your next purchase.
The four-door Jeep Recon has a boxy design that celebrates the brand's iconic body language. Likewise, it features flared and molded fenders, as well as a rectangular grille. Flanking the grille, the rectangular headlights are outlined on three sides with a thick LED ribbon. The beefy, molded bumper is available with a skid plate and tow hooks. Most of the Recon's windows and all doors are removable, which delivers the open-air driving experience that drivers want while traveling off-road and through town. The model is available with a black roof, roof rails, a power liftgate, a one-touch powered top, and a portable dual-level charging cord.
The Recon excels in its power and ruggedness. This is the only trail-rated electric vehicle currently offered by Jeep, and it features the most powerful engine available in the lineup. This dual-motor system can propel you up to 60 miles per hour in only 3.6 seconds. The high-powered battery can be charged from 5% to 80% in only 28 minutes using a fast-charging device. The battery range is 230 miles on a full charge. The Recon is rated for high ground clearance, superior traction, water fording, maneuverability, and articulation to help you navigate the most challenging driving conditions. The five modes available with the Selec-Terrain traction management system are Sport, Sand, Rock, Snow, and Auto.
Inside the 2026 Recon, you can appreciate a full range of modern features. These features include a 360-degree camera, an Alpine audio system with a subwoofer and 11 speakers, a 14.5-inch touchscreen display with UConnect, a navigation system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, pedestrian emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rough road cruise control, heated seats, and many others.
